Recordkeeper Shutting Down

There’s not any leads we can find. No one heard from the time travelers before they disappeared and apparently no one’s seen them.

And frankly, I’m starting to get nervous about investigating it since everyone keeps saying ‘government, government, government’.

I’ll leave this up, but don’t expect me to keep posting.

It was cool to be part of something but I guess it’s the end of the line.

Possible Connections Between Time Travelers

note: I decided just to sit down and post this now before things get too crazy trying to figure out what’s happened to the time travelers. Hopefully it’s all nothing and we can get back to working on this soon, so here it is before I forget:

All of the time travelers arrived by train to Winona. Additionally, it was pointed out to me by a reader that Google conspicuously suggests the local station when you google ‘Winona Time Travelers’ as I’m sure has happened more frequently as of late.

Time Travelers Missing?

Alright, so it didn’t escape my notice that as of Friday I was getting a lot of emails and comments on the blog about the time travelers having become fairly scarce this week… Even though I hadn’t been able to get a hold of the time traveler affiliated with the interview that got deleted, I wasn’t that alarmed but Ben Davis never showed up at our meeting to discuss the blog.

Please let me know if you have any information about what happened more useful than the video that was posted anonymously here:

Lastly there was another post forthcoming that Ben was helping me with about a possible connection between the time travelers and trains. It sort of seems out of place to discuss it now since their disappearance seems more concerning than explaining how they got here but…

Time Traveler Discussion Caught on Audio at WSU

I received this in an email. They said they’d overheard this conversation in the food court area of the WSU campus a few days ago. That would line up with the individuals in the video, who if I’m not mistaken, sound a lot like people from the interview I lost.

I still haven’t been able to get ahold of any of them for a redo of that interview… Hoping that Ben will have some ideas, since I’m going to meet with him in just a bit to talk about expanding the blog’s journalistic investigations.

Interviews from the Meet-Up Videos!

The thing we’ve all been waiting for: the interviews from Sunday’s meet up are now posted on YouTube.

Unfortunately, something seems to have happened with the first one, which detailed the story of an engagement broken by way of time travel. Actually, the situation that’s erupted around that you couldn’t write; it’s a soap opera. I’m hoping I’ll be able to get in touch with that family and get a redo of the interview at some point in the future.

However! Fortunately the other three interviews I took footage of survived my poor tech skills and have been uploaded to YouTube. They feature individuals we’ve discussed on the blog before: Chad, Elizabeth, and Ben.

You can view these below!

Chad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_H1gLP3wer0
Elizabeth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyQ4Zah_nBI
Ben: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqjwGnEtUX8

I also was able to take an audio-only interview with another alleged time traveler from the 1920s named Winnie. I’m trying to figure out where is best to upload that…

The astute reader will probably notice that several of the stories have striking similarities. Tune in tomorrow for a post discussing the commonalities between the travelers and join the discussion on what may have drawn these people into the present!

I’m so happy that things finally seem to be going somewhere!

Thank you for joining us at the Meet Up! UPDATE: 10:45pm

I really wasn’t sure what to expect hosting a meet up like that, especially on such extremely short notice. But, short of a couple individuals who seemed like they were just there to make trouble, it went really well. I was surprised how young the attendance was!

I took a number of interviews with different time travelers who came openly to the party. I should be able to upload those to YouTube tonight and post them soon!

Thank you folks!

EDIT: I’m having real problems getting these interviews off the camera and on to my computer. I don’t even think the first one was recorded properly. Oops. Shame someone didn’t volunteer to do camera and mic work for me like they did with the posters.

I’ll do what I can to have whatever I did get up in the next couple days for you guys to go over. I wanted to fast track posting them while it was fresh in my mind – there’s a lot of similarities between the time travelers’ tales, actually! I think at this rate I’m just gonna upload the raw files as is without editing – even though the disturbance at the party was something I meant to cut out. I don’t want to accidentally delete something else.

Updated Meet-up Flyers, Meeting is Sun Dec 2 at Noon in Phelps B5!

A woke up to an email from a reader who apparently stayed up late making some better posters than the one I tried to make for myself. They wished to remain anonymous, but I am very grateful!

Please go ahead and grab one and post it! I’ll try to get a few printed to put up around town. I know it’s short notice and I apologize for that – but if we wait any longer, people will get too busy with the holidays.

Announcement: Meet-Up Event for Time Travelers EDIT: post outdated, see new post!

Dinnereventimage

I have decided to reserve some space this weekend at the Winona State University campus to host a meet up for the time travelers who have reached out to or been reported to the blog.

I’m sorry about the really terrible flyer. I don’t know how to do it really…

I haven’t gotten the room reserved quite yet – I sort of just decided to do this right now at 10PM but – I will update this post tomorrow with more details! The complete flyer (sans the room number) is attached below.

“Travelers'” Tales – Brad of the 80s

Alright. Yeah I know this isn’t really on schedule. Whatever, I still didn’t want to post it at all. And I know you all asked for it, so I’m gonna do so, but let me explain why I’m not eager to post this guy’s story.

I’ve posted examples of photos or articles in the past noting how they are not good evidence for this phenomenon. I didn’t want to railroad people into believing this by just continually posting all the case elements for it and ignoring possible other alternatives. But those items were different. They were anonymously submitted and clearly meant either to see how gullible I was or to poke fun at the whole idea. No one asserted that they were real – most of them didn’t even come with messages!

But this guy asserts he’s telling the truth and that he himself is an open, bragging time travel here in Winona.

His communications started with  me about a month ago. He messaged the blog’s Facebook page, not with a request for interview, but to ask whether or not I’d publicize his fight video with someone who doubted the truth of his claim. He’d been told by a friend from the 80s he’d met up with in the present day to write me about posting it. I told him that that really wasn’t the purpose of this blog.

I mean, I’ve started posting my own random asides here or the comments have some drama, but a fight video is just a step too far.

I didn’t think he was too serious either, because after I’d flatly said no about the video, I sent him some interview questions. He sent back this wall of very canned sounding text.

He said his name was Chad and that he was from 1986. He got off a train coming home from Oktoberfest – too hungover to remember any real details about the trip, apparently – and found himself in Winona. None of this is that weird compared with the other stories the blog has gathered.

But his whole delivery was just so… flippant. He said he thought his purpose was “to show everyone how to party again, kids today dont [SIC] know how to kick it and be rad”. And of course, his response finished that the only problem with his fun life now was that he was going to have to fight this guy who said he wasn’t from the 80s “cause hes [SIC] dumb”.

Honestly, I just thought his whole story was complete bunk. I think treating him with the same seriousness as say Elizabeth the Runaway Mom or even those weird news stories about the costumed bank robbers severely harms the credibility of this blog.
